Solstice, written by local composer Ben Rowley and performed by a cast of regional actors, debuts on the Charles R. Wood Theater mainstage in Glens Falls.

Following a sold out staged reading debut in 2023, Solstice returns as a fully staged developmental production, continuing its evolution while staying rooted in the community of artists that first brought it to life.

Though a fictional work about loss and self-discovery, Solstice remains a personal endeavor for Rowley - one collaboratively motivated by the people who have shaped his artistic voice. Guided by an original pop contemporary score and intimate storytelling, the musical centers on the question, "how do we move on?"

"The musical follows two young men a year after their mother's passing, and how her passing affects not only their relationship but their community as well," said Brittany Martel, Director. She continued, "It's incredible to be able to develop a new work about a fictional community, amongst a real life community of actors who have their own bonds and relationships outside of the piece."

Performances will take place on May 22-23 at the  Charles R. Wood Theater located at 207 Glen Street, Glens Falls, NY. Tickets can be purchased at Solstice The Musical's website.
