The campers attend a Broadway show and participate in a "Meet the Artist" program where they work with some of Broadway's brightest stars in master classes in acting, stage combat, Shakespeare and design. Auditions will be held for the final show during the first week of camp and the final performance will take place during the last week of camp.
Drama Juniors (Rising K-1):
For children who love to sing, act, and dance, Drama Juniors offers a fun-filled immersion into the creative process of theater. Campers will focus on music, storytelling, dance, and creative drama in literacy. Marymount’s performing arts teachers will lead campers in all classes, exposing them to the joy and craft of musical theater. Drama Junior requires a three-week enrollment (weeks 3, 4, and 5) and will culminate in a small performance on the last day of camp in July to commemorate the end of summer.
Drama Camp (Rising 2-6):
Drama Camp requires a three-week enrollment (weeks 3, 4, and 5, July 6th - 24th) and will culminate in a fully realized musical theater performance. Taught by professional teaching artists, the program focuses on acting, singing, and dancing with specialty classes in design and writing. The final performance will be held during the last week of camp.
Advanced Drama Camp (Rising 7-9):
The Advanced Drama Camp for rising 7th-9th graders is an intensive study of musical theater performance taught by professional teaching artists. This camp requires a four-week commitment (weeks 2, 3, 4, and 5, June 29th - July 24th) and culminates in a fully realized musical theater performance. Advanced classes in scene study, musical theater singing, and Broadway dance are taught alongside specialty classes in design and writing. Auditions will be held for the final show during the first week of camp and the final performance will take place during the last week of camp.
