Existential Questions of the 21st Century is a musical comedy with book, music, and lyrics by Sam Balzac that pokes fun at corporate opportunism and mass defeatism in the face of the climate crisis. Set at ExistenceCon, a fictional festival for those celebrating the coming end of the world, the show follows entrepreneurs, artists, alien-worshippers, and sentient computers as they wrestle with pessimism and progress over the fate of humanity. The concert reading features Sam Balzac, Patrick Brady, Jen Chia, Hannah Eakin, Molly Rose Heller, Pru Lord-Remmert, Njoki Tiagha, and music director Fernanda Douglas. The performance will include an interview with the NYC DSA Ecosocialist working group, a force in the Zohran Mamdani campaign.
