Cast Set for EXISTENTIAL QUESTIONS OF THE 21ST CENTURY Concert at Caveat

Existential Questions of the 21st Century, which pokes fun at corporate opportunism and mass defeatism in the face of the climate crisis, will be performed in concert for one day only on Saturday, May 2 at 1:30pm at Caveat (21 A Clinton St). The show features book, music, and lyrics by Sam Balzac (The Guild the Musical).

The reading will feature Sam Balzac, Patrick Brady (Lucky Stiff), Jen Chia (Forever Noon: Twilight Musical Parody Saga), Hannah Eakin (Byzantine Choral Project), Molly Rose Heller (WHERE WE MEET), Pru Lord-Remmert (Utopia, Limited) and Njoki Tiagha. Fernanda Douglas (Forever Noon: Twilight Musical Parody Saga), also featured, serves as music director.

Performing in Saranac Lake, NY as a winner of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Support for Artists grant in 2025, the musical featured a forum with activists from Third Act Upstate New York, Protect the Adirondacks, and High Peaks Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The NYC showing will include an interview with the NYC DSA Ecosocialist working group, a major force in the history-making Zohran Mamdani campaign.

Existential Questions of the 21st Century takes place at ExistenceCon, the world's premier festival for those celebrating the coming end of the world, where entrepreneurs, artists, alien-worshippers, and sentient computers come to terms with their preconceived notions of life and progress. With catchy tunes, mind-numbing lyrics, and an interruption from the as-yet unconvinced, audiences encounter the dueling forces of pessimism and progress as they spar over the fate of humanity and Planet Earth. Tickets to the performance are $30.08 all-inclusive and can be purchased online now.
