Catherine Laga‘aia will be voyaging to Motunui and beyond as the adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people in Disney’s upcoming live-action “Moana.” Releasing in theaters on July 10, 2026, “Moana” is directed by Thomas Kail, who helmed “Hamilton” on Broadway and “Grease Live.'

Playwright David Mamet has written the screenplay for a new feature drama called The Prince. The description reveals that the film 'chronicles an addict’s tumultuous odyssey through the highstakes world of power, pleasure, and pain on a transformative journey toward recovery.'

Taye Diggs, who appeared in the original Broadway cast of Rent, will be appearing in a new psychological thriller from writer/director Ariel Julia Hairston called Both Eyes Open. Alongside Diggs, the cast will include Gail Bail as the central character Ally, along with Joy Brunson, Christie Leverette, Tristan Mack Wilds, Michael Oloyede, and Carla Fisher.

The HBO Original two-part documentary ONE SOUTH: PORTRAIT OF A PSYCH UNIT, produced and directed by Peabody Award-winner Alexandra Shiva (“How to Dance in Ohio,” “This Is Home”) and Lindsey Megrue (“This Is Home”), debuts TUESDAY, JUNE 25 (9:00-10:20 p.m. ET/PT), followed by part two on Wednesday, June 26 at the same time on HBO. Peacock has just dropped the trailer for the upcoming crime documentary, TikTok Star Murders. Premiering June 25 on Peacock, the documentary delves into how the seemingly picture-perfect relationship between TikTok personality Ali Abulaban and his wife Ana turned deadly through private, never-before-aired cellphone footage and audio. Netflix has revealed that the director's cut of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon will be debuting later this year. Along with the announcement, Netflix dropped the titles for both extended entries, along with new photos to boot. Rebel Moon — Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness will both arrive on the streamer on August 2, 2024 and promise to be 'viciously sexier' and 'bloodier' than the 2023 and 2024 original versions.

DreamWorks Animation has just dropped a new trailer for their latest animated feature, The Wild Robot. The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling. Watch the trailer now!

The nonprofit Sundance Institute has announced the 10 producers selected to participate in its annual Producers Lab, being held June 10–22 for the first time at Ucross Foundation in Wyoming where they host artists throughout the year. The Producers Program reflects the Institute’s long-standing commitment to increasing support for independent producers and champions the current and rising generation of producers year-round.

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced and detailed the DVD, Blu-ray, and Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbook release of the final season of Star Trek: Discovery. These 4-disc DVD and Blu-ray™ collections include every adventure-filled episode and nearly 2 hours of special features, including featurettes, audio commentary, a gag reel, and more. They will be released on August 27.

Emmy-winning media company World of Wonder has announced that DragCon LA 2024, taking place July 19-20, 2024 at the LA Convention Center, will host live audience tapings for four WOW Presents Plus original series: Bring Back My Girls, Hey Qween!, Live From The Pink Carpet with Michelle Visage, and Touch Ups with Raven.

Jon Stewart will return to The Daily Show desk tonight followed by Jordan Klepper Tuesday - Thursday at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central, with the episode available on Paramount+ the next morning. Stewart will continue to host alongside The Daily Show’s all-star News Team, including Ronny Chieng,  Desi Lydic,  Jordan Klepper and Michael Kosta alongside Dulcé Sloan and Lewis Black.

After several nostalgia-baiting TikTok videos featuring clips from the cult film Practical Magic, Warner Bros. has officially announced that a sequel to the 1998 movie is in the works. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, who played witch sisters Sally and Gillian in the film, are reportedly in talks to return for the sequel, this time as producers as well. Denise Di Novi is also set to serve as a producer.
