beIN SPORTS, the fastest growing cable network in the U.S., presents the broadcast television premiere of IMS Internet Media Services, with an original idea of its CEO, Gaston Taratuta in partnership with Margarita Wais' feature documentary, THE IMPOSSIBLE CHAMPION (El Campeón Imposible), an inspiring account of Argentina's 1986 World Cup victory, and two of the most talked about goals of the competition's history, both scored by Diego Maradona.

"The Impossible Champion" will premiere on Sunday, October 2nd at 9pm ET / 6pm PT, on beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS en Español.

"beIN SPORTS is thrilled to bring this gripping film to our viewers," said Yousef Al-Obaidly, Deputy CEO of beIN Media Group. "As soccer is one of the cornerstones of our network, fans across the globe will have an inside look into the 1986 Argentinean national team and the awe-inspiring Diego Maradona. Always seeking to provide our viewers with the best in sports content and entertainment, beIN SPORTS is proud to showcase this remarkable victory on both our networks."

"We are delighted to have our film distributed on such a prestigious sports network like beIN SPORTS. With its strong global presence and brand we believe this film could not have found a better home," said Gastón Taratuta, IMS CEO. "'The Impossible Champion' documents one of the world's most spectacular and memorable sporting moments of all time, it is definitely a story that beIN SPORTS' audience is going to enjoy."

The documentary delivers an in-depth look into the influence of Maradona's performance on Argentina and the country's soccer culture, as it tells the story of how Argentina's national soccer team achieved the most unlikely World Cup win 30 years ago in Mexico. The film features exclusive interviews and testimonials with some of the most prominent soccer players and figures from that era, including Diego Maradona, as well as Ali Bennaceur, the referee that validated Maradona's infamous "Hand of God" goal against England. Additional commentary is provided by Carlos Bilardo, Coach of the 1986 Argentina team; Peter Shilton, England's 1986 goalkeeper; and sports commentators Victor Hugo Morales and Martin Tyler, among others.

"The Impossible Champion" is directed by Margarita Wais and produced by Non-Stop Productions.
