Deadline reports that Irish actress Victoria Smurfit has signed on to join the cast of the upcoming series DRACULA for NBC. The actress joins previously announced cast members Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jessica De Gouw, Katie McGrath, and Nonso Anozie.

The 10-episode drama series is set in London and will feature Meyers as famed vampire 'Dracula' who is posing as American entrepreneur Alan Grayson. The out-of-towner claims he is trying to bring modern science to Victorian society, when in reality, "he hopes to wreak Revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier but falls hopelessly in love with Mina Murray (De Gouw) who appears to be the reincarnation of his dead wife."

Smurfit is set to play Lady Jayne, a beautiful woman who is drawn to Grayson, and ultimately decides to persue him.

Smurfit is best known for her role in 2003's BULLETPROOF MONK.

Dracula is executive produced by Colin Callender, Tony Krantz, Gareth Neame and Dan Knauf for and Universal Television.
