Vickie Shaw Set for I'M NOT YOUR ROLE MODEL Gala Evening at LA LGBT Center Tonight

The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center and StandOut Productions present a gala evening celebrating the world premiere of Vickie Shaw's brand new comedy film, I'm Not Your Role Model, directed by StandOut's Andrea Meyerson A "comedy Q&A" featuring Ms. Shaw and her funniest friends, Roxana Ward and Lisa Koch, will follow the screening. The audience is then invited to an outdoor reception in the beautiful courtyard of the Center's The Village at Ed Gould Plaza. The party will take place tonight, August 9, starting at 8 p.m.

Vickie Shaw has been making people laugh until their faces hurt and ribs crack! She has traveled the entire U.S. and many overseas locations to make people laugh. She gets her comedy from her life with her partner Sargent Patch, their three children and three grandchildren. Shaw has appeared in movies (Laughing Matters More), television (Comedy Central), and four comedy specials on the LOGO Channel (Late in Life Lesbians, Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen), just to name a few. She headlines on Olivia Cruises and events produced by the Human Rights Campaign, Lambda Legal, GLAAD, and the list just gets bigger. For more information about Shaw, visit vickieshaw.com.

Roxana Ward is a multi-talented cabaret comic from Laguna Beach, California. A pianist, musical arranger, producer, and conductor (Milwaukee Symphony), Ward has worked with such legends as Dolly Parton, Laura Nyro, Tennessee Ernie Ford, and Bea Arthur. She is also an accomplished songwriter. Her engaging blend of piano-bar comedy caused one reviewer to observe, "It's as if Bette Midler and Steve Allen had a love child." Ward is currently teaching and directing at Laguna Beach High School and is a favorite on Olivia Cruises. For more information about Ward, visit standuplive.com/comedian.cfm?id=6513.

Seattle singer/comedian Lisa Koch ("Coke") is a deliciously twisted mix of comedy, theater and demented songs. She has four solo recordings. She is an alumnae of cult quartet Venus Envy and performs as one-half of the hilarious sketch comedy duo Dos Fallopia. She has shared the stage with such artists as Steve Martin, Dave Brubeck, Janis Ian, The Indigo Girls, Holly Near, and Kate Clinton. Koch has been a featured act at the National and Michigan Women's Music Festivals, Bumbershoot, and the Vancouver Comedy Festival. An accomplished playwright and songwriter, she also finds time to work as an actor, appearing in The Vagina Monologues, Dirty Blonde, and as the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. She performs regularly on Olivia Cruises and has been seen on the LOGO Channel. Her CD, Tall Cool Drink, contains the viral hit, "I'm a Middle-Aged Woman."
