The Worldwide Sports Reality Competition Phenomenon EXATLON Comes To Telemundo

Telemundo announced today it is bringing to the United States for the first time "Exatlon," the sports and reality survival competition which has become a success in Mexico and around the world, where two teams compete in different challenges that will test their physical, mental and competitive skills. Produced by Acunmedya and distributed by TV Azteca exclusively for Telemundo, the intense family-friendly reality show is slated to air later this year and will feature contestants from all over the United States.

"We are proud to add another truly global franchise to our reality programming," said Luis Silberwasser, President of Telemundo. "Our audience can't get enough of the great entertainment formats. 'Exatlon' is a great show for the entire family where viewers will enjoy an entertaining competition among contestants representing Hispanics from all over the United States."

"Exatlon" will get the best out of all competitors through a combination of extreme circuits (EX) and 10 different sports (DECATHLON). Rival teams, made up of five men and five women each, including some celebrities and sports athletes, will face challenging obstacles that will test their strength, speed, endurance and motor skills. At the end of the intense and exhaustive battle, the winner will be named the champion of "Exatlon."

"We are pleased that Telemundo is the home of 'Exatlon' in the U.S. Hispanic market," said Alberto Ciurana, Chief Content and Distribution Officer for TV Azteca. "The format has rapidly become the #1 show in Mexico and around the world."

"We can call 'Exatlon' the new sport in the world," said Acun Il?cal?, founder of Acunmedya Production and Broadcasting Group. "A unique feature of this competition is the mixed teams of men and women. We are happy to reach the Hispanic audience in the United States through Telemundo."
