Telemundo Dedicates All National & Local Platforms to Help Victims of Hurricane Harvey

Telemundo announced today that it has joined the American Red Cross to offer aid to the victims of devastating Hurricane Harvey, which is currently impacting the Gulf Coast. The awareness and fundraising initiative will use all Telemundo platforms to assist Hurricane Harvey victims through www.elpoderenti.com/cruzroja or by calling 1-800-596-6567.

Telemundo will be offering special programming on all its programs throughout the day Friday, September 1 as well as public service announcements on the devastating effects of this historic weather phenomenon and inviting the audience to contribute to Red Cross efforts. In addition, reporters from Telemundo and the local stations will be offering live breaking news from the affected areas.

Thursday, August 31:

Telemundo Houston, together with NBC affiliate station, KPRC-2, will host a phone bank to support American Red Cross efforts.

Telemundo62 Philadelphia and Telemundo 20 will host phone banks with sister stations NBC10 Philadelphia and NBC 7 San Diego, in collaboration with the American Red Cross to raise funds to support individuals affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Friday, September 1:

At a National level, Telemundo will dedicate a "Red Cross Day" during which the network will offer special programming in all its daily shows to create awareness about this weather phenomenon and help raise funds for those affected.

Telemundo 52 Los Angeles and NBC4 Southern California will host a phone bank to support American Red Cross efforts.

Wednesday, September 6:

Telemundo Puerto Rico will host a phone bank in partnership with the local American Red Cross chapter to raise funds for individuals and communities affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Telemundo 48 Área de la Bahía and sister station NBC Bay Area will host a phone bank to support hurricane victims.
