Telemundo Announces Bio-Series NICKY JAM: EL GANADOR, Based on Latin Music Sensation

Telemundo is set to premiere NICKY JAM: EL GANADOR, an authorized bio-series based on the life and career of the Latin music superstar. Produced by the newly combined studio Endemol Shine Boomdog, the scripted drama begins production in Medellín, Colombia this week and will star the Reggaeton sensation himself. The original series will have its premiere exclusively on Telemundo this summer, and will be available for Netflix members outside of the U.S., and will follow the highs and lows experienced by one of the most prolific artists in the genre.

"I'm extremely excited we started on the production of my biographical series Nicky Jam: El Ganador, which people around the world will be able to see on Telemundo" said the double platinum artist. "It's something I've wanted to do for a long time, so thanks to all those who supported me and have worked to make my dream come true."

Nicky Jam: El Ganador will tell the LIFE STORY of award-winning Nicky Jam, a singer-songwriter, who has become a worldwide music phenomenon. From his humble and troubled start in Boston, to his downfall on the streets, to becoming the king of one of the most popular musical genres, this is not only the life of Nicky Jam, but the history of reggaeton itself. The reborn star has since received some of the most prestigious awards in the industry, sold out stadiums, earned the admiration of his colleagues and emerged as a leading exponent of urban music.

Comprised of 13 episodes, the bio-series will be directed by acclaimed film and music video director Jessy Terrero. Filming begins in Colombia on January 15, and will continue onto locations in Mexico, Puerto Rico and New York. In the U.S., the show will be made available on Netflix after premiering on Telemundo.
