"A Birthday Story" - Frankie and Mike are speechless when, on his ninth birthday, Brick demands to hear the true story about the day he was born, which has remained a mysterious Heck family secret.  Meanwhile, Axl's new manager at the movie theater turns out to be a conundrum - hot and dumb - which leaves a confused Axl wondering if her hotness trumps her incompetence, on "The Middle," WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"The Middle" stars Patricia Heaton as Frankie, Neil Flynn as Mike, Charlie McDermott as Axl, Eden Sher as Sue, Atticus Shaffer as Brick and Chris Kattan as Bob.

Guest starring are Beau Wirick as Sean Donahue, John Gammon as Darrin, Sarah Wright as Kasey, Malena Hougen as nurse, Treisa Gary as customer, Jason Boegh as ticket buyer and Liz Montgomery as librarian.

"A Birthday Story" was written by Vijal Patel and directed by Ken Whittingham.

"The Middle" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format with a 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.
