Rachel McAdams is nearing a deal to join the untitled ensemble (and sort of wacky-sounding) romantic comedy from Cameron Crowe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, McAdams will join Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone in the film, which Crowe wrote and is set to direct. Acclaimed producer Scott Rudin is also on board.

The film reportedly follows "a defense contractor (Cooper) who is overseeing a weapons satellite launch from Hawaii teams up with (and falls for) an Air Force pilot (Stone) to scuttle the launch. Mystical island forces and a talking a computer also play a part." McAdams would play Cooper's ex-girlfriend, should she sign on.

For the original story, head on over to The Hollywood Reporter.

McAdams is best known for her role in Nicholas Sparks' THE NOTEBOOK, starring opposite Ryan Gosling. She has also starred in such films as MEAN GIRLS, WEDDING CRASHERS, THE FAMILY STONE, SHERLOCK HOLMES, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, and THE VOW.
