RIZZOLI & ISLES Returns to TNT with 6.6 Million Viewers

TNT's blockbuster drama Rizzoli & Isles returned in a big way Tuesday night as the show's fourth season premiere garnered 6.6 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery, including 2.3 million adults 25-54 and 1.8 million adults 18-49. The show outperformed last year's season three launch by double digits, with total viewers growing by +18%, adults 25-54 by +19% and adults 18-49 by +17%. Competitively, the season premiere of Rizzoli & Isles now ranks as basic cable's #1 series telecast of the summer-to-date with total viewers and adults 25-54.

Rizzoli & Isles was followed Tuesday night by the second season launch of Perception, which garnered more than 4 million viewers in Live + Same Day. The show also scored 1.2 million adults 25-54 and 1 million adults 18-49.

One of cable's Top 3 shows for three consecutive years, Rizzoli & Isles stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander as Boston's top crime-solving duo. Harmon is Jane Rizzoli, a tough-as-nails Boston police detective, and Alexander is Maura Isles, a smart, impeccably dressed medical examiner from a privileged background. Despite being complete opposites, the two women share an offbeat chemistry, an authentic and deep friendship and a unique working relationship that together, helps them to solve the most complex murder mysteries in the city of Boston.
