Photos: THE GIFT TV Series Premieres in Calgary
THE GIFT, filmed at Azuridge Estate, stars Therese Goulet and Dr. Lolly de Jonge in the Alberta-shot series.
Audience members attended a packed premiere on Wednesday of new reality show series THE GIFT at the Globe Theater in Calgary where the first two episodes of the forthcoming Alberta-filmed television show were screened. Check out photos of the event.
Walking the pink carpet was the show's creator and star, Therese "Tag" Goulet, also known affectionately as The Sugar Mama. Additional attendees included the cast of season one, which included country singer Robert Adam, aka, The Dream Angel Cowboy of Canada. Adam is set to go on tour with their album this summer across Japan.
Additional cast appearances were made by well-known drag artist Francheska Dynamites, who was featured in the third season of Canada's a Drag. Chief Executive Officer of IndigeKin Productions and Creative Facilitator and host of The Gift Dr. Lolly de Jonge also walked the pink carpet.
The Gift television series follows twelve creative people with unique talents (stage performers, visual artists, and musicians) as they experience personal growth while competing for a $100,000 gift from an arts matron known as The Sugar Mama. Available in the United States, the series will be coming to Canadian audiences this summer.
The series stars Therese "Tag" Goulet, as The Sugar Mama and Dr. Lolly de Jonge as the creative facilitator. The Sugar Mama is a matron of the arts who will award one creative a gift of $100,000 to make their dreams come true during the final episode of the show. Filmed at the luxurious Azuridge Estate in Priddis, Alberta, the nine-episode series has been picked up for distribution in the US.
