Netflix Orders Workplace Comedy SPACE FORCE From Greg Daniels & Steve Carell

Deadline reports that Steve Carell will reunite with The Office's developer/executive Greg Daniels for a new Netflix workplace comedy, which takes on President Donald Trump's Space Force initiative.

Co-created by Carell and Daniels, Space Force is centered around the people tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services...Space Force.

Carell will star and executive produce the series, while Daniels will serve as showrunner and executive producer.

The series is inspired by Trump's June 18 announcement that he has directed the Department of Defense and the Pentagon to establish a Space Force as the sixth branch of the armed forces. In August, Vice President Mike Pence said the new branch will defend satellites from attack and perform other space-related tasks. "It's going to be something," Trump said during his original speech.
