NBC's THIS IS US is No. 1 Show of Tuesday Night Among Big 4

NBC wins the night among the Big 4 in every key demo, sweeping 6 of 6 half-hours in 18-49, with "This Is Us" and "The Voice" ranking as the #1-2 shows of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49 and "Chicago Fire" scoring the top rating for a 10 p.m. drama among 14 aired on ABC, CBS and NBC over the past seven nights.

"This Is Us" (2.6/9 in 18-49, 9.6 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET): For a second week in a row has built on its "Voice" lead-in in 18-49 (2.6 vs. 2.4).

Remains the only scripted show ever to build on an original "Voice" lead-in in 18-49 (excludes "Voice" recaps).

Is the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49.

Retains 93% of last week's 2.8, which matched the highest rating for any episode of a first-year drama on any Big 4 network since October 2015. In total viewers, the week-to-week retention is currently 97% (9.615 million vs. 9.872 million), despite last night's strong Cubs-Dodgers baseball playoff competition.

Wins the slot over CBS's "Bull" by a +63% margin in 18-49 (2.6 vs. 1.6).

Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD - last week's "This Is Us" grew by +52% in 18-49 (from a 2.77 rating to a 4.22) and +3.7 million viewers overall (9.9 million to 13.6 million) going from L+SD to L+3, for the biggest lifts of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49 rating (+1.45) and total viewers (+3.711 million).

These were the highest L+3 results yet for "This Is Us" in 18-49 and total viewers, topping the show's Sept. 20 premiere (4.18 in 18-49, 13.530 million in total viewers), making "Us" the first new fall drama on any Big 4 network ever to hit a new adult 18-49 high with its third telecast in L+3.

Facebook / Twitter: The Sept. 20 debut of "This Is Us" delivered the most Facebook and Twitter activity of any new series premiere on any network so far this fall, with a total of 383,000 interactions the night of the show's premiere, to top the 290,000 total for this fall's #2 debut, E Network's "Rob & Chyna."

"Chicago Fire" (1.7/6 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET): Delivers the top 18-49 rating among 14 ABC-CBS-NBC 10 p.m. drama of the past week (best since its own 1.8 last week).

Wins the hour among last night's ABC-CBS-NBC dramas in every key demographic (including a tie in men 25-54).

Grows +7% versus the same night last year in 18-49 (1.7 vs. 1.6 on Oct. 20, 2015).

Maintains 94% of last week's season-premiere rating in 18-49 (1.7 vs. 1.8) and 99% in total viewers (7.413 million vs. 7.524 million).

In adults 18-49, beats "NCIS: New Orleans" by a +42% margin (1.7 vs. 1.2) and "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." by +113% (1.7 vs. 0.8).

Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD - last week's "Fire" grew by +46% in 18-49 (1.81 to 2.64) and more than +3.1 million viewers overall (7.5 million to 10.7 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

"The Voice" (2.4/9 in 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET): Wins the hour among the Big 4 networks in every key demographic and is the #2 show of the night on those nets in 18-49 behind only NBC's "This Is Us."

Is retaining 96% of the comparable rating for the prior cycle in both 18-49 (2.4 vs. 2.5 on March 22) and total viewers (10.316 million vs. 10.764 million).

Retains 96% of last week's 2.5 in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings and 92% of last week's 2.6 in official nationals, despite last night's strong Cubs-Dodgers baseball playoff competition.

Note that during the prior cycle, the comparable Battle Round 2 telecast was off by 0.2 of a point versus the prior week's Battle Round 1 episode (2.5 on March 22 vs. 2.7 on March 15).

In total viewers, retains 97% of last week's 10.638 million in these fast-affil figures and 95% versus last week's 10.879 million in official nationals.

Is up +33% versus where the show ended its prior cycle (2.4 vs. 1.8 in the 8-9 p.m. hour during May sweep) and +16% in total viewers (10.316 million vs. 8.899 million).

Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD - last week's Tuesday "Voice" increased by +27% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 3.3 to a 4.2) and +2.5 million viewers overall (12.2 million to 14.7 million).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night: In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.1/6 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.5/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.3/2.

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
