NBC's THE VOICE Grows Week-to-Week in Ratings

NBC was the top non-sports network Monday night among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX with week to week gains for both "The Voice" and "Revolution" despite last night's NCAA competition.
From 8-10:01 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (4.9 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 13.7 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 4 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.9 from a 4.7 in last week's official nationals, and up 7 percent vs. last week's 4.6 in these prelim fast-affil ratings) and up 3 percent in total viewers (13.673 million vs. 13.310 million), despite last night's competition from CBS's NCAA Basketball Finals. "The Voice" is the night's #1 non-sports telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX (excluding CBS's 8-9 p.m. programming, which is currently inflated by West Coast basketball).The 4.9 is "The Voice's" highest rating this cycle on either a Monday or a Tuesday and matches last fall's finale (4.9/13 on Tuesday, Dec. 18. 2012 from 9-11 p.m.) as the highest "Voice" on any night of the week since Monday, March 12, 2012."The Voice" ranks #1 in the time period on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49 and other key measures. In 18-49, "The Voice" topped ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" by a margin of 145 percent (4.9 vs. 2.0). "The Voice" is up 11 percent versus the third Monday telecast of the prior cycle (4.4 on September 24, 2012) and up 23 percent versus the same night last year (4.0 on April 9, 2012).In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.6/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.8/6 with an Encore delayed by basketball; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.1/5.
For the Week:"The Voice" is #2 and #3 for the week among entertainment telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49, behind only CBS's "Big Bang Theory" (excludes NCAA basketball coverage), and "The Voice" was the week's #1 overall telecast on those networks in women 18-34, women 18-49, teens 12-17 and kids 2-11. Last week's two editions of the "The Voice" (4.7 on Monday, 4.5 on Tuesday) convincingly out-rated Fox's "American Idol" in 18-49 (3.1 on Wednesday, 2.9 on Thursday). In total viewers, "The Voice" (13.3 million on Monday, 13.9 million on Tuesday) also topped "Idol" (11.8 million on Wednesday, 11.7 million on Thursday).NBC is tied for #2 for the week in 18-49 and tied for #1 among women 18-34.The 1.7 for the week is NBC's highest 18-49 average in 10 weeks, since January 21-27, when NBC also scored a 1.7. NBC last generated a higher rating during the week of January 7-13 with a 2.2.
