NBC's THE TONIGHT SHOW Outdelivers CBS's 'Late Show' in Key Demo

Up against the highly promoted debut of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" ranked as the #1 late-night talk show for the week of Sept. 7-11 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and other key demographics.

In official national results from Nielsen Media Research, "The Tonight Show" drew a 1.20 rating, 6 share in 18-49 and 3.943 million total viewers overall and topped Colbert on three of the week's four nights (Wednesday through Friday) in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

These were "Tonight's" best weekly 18-49 and total-viewer results in nearly seven months (1.30 rating in 18-49, 4.233 million viewers overall for the week of Feb. 16-20).

Note: The Sept. 7 Labor Day "Tonight Show" encore episode is considered a special and not included in weekly or season averages.

"Late Night with Seth Meyers" (0.57/4 in 18-49 rating, 1.727 viewers overall) generated its best weekly 18-49 and total-viewer results in seven months (also a 0.57 in 18-49 and 1.728 million viewers overall for the week of Feb. 2-6, 2015).

Despite the later hour, Meyers outdrew ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in adults 18-49 four nights in a row and finished +30% ahead of Kimmel in the demo for the week (0.57 vs. 0.44).

"Last Call with Carson Daly"(0.37/3 in 18-49, 994,000 viewers overall) delivered the show's best 18-49 average in more than nine months, since the week of Nov. 17-21, 2014 (also a 0.37) and equaled its top week in adults 18-49 in 18 months (since the week of March 3-7, 2014, 0.38).

In total viewers, the 994,000 was "Last Call's" strongest delivery in 17 months, since the week of March 24-28, 2014 (1.019 million).
