"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" delivered another decisive win in late-night ratings for the week of June 9-13, beating the combined rating of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" in adults 18-49. Note that NBC's Friday results were excluded due to a lengthy NHL overrun, Kimmel was in rebroadcast two days last week and boosted by high-rated NBA lead-ins on two nights, and Letterman ran an encore on Friday.
On last week's two NBA nights, Fallon outscored Kimmel in 18-49 and total viewers, marking the first two times since 2011 that "Tonight" has beaten Kimmel in 18-49 on a night Kimmel was boosted by Primetime NBA Finals coverage on ABC. The prior time came on June 7, 2011, when Kimmel was still following "Nightline" on ABC's late-night schedule. Fallon beat Kimmel last Tuesday with a 1.39 rating in 18-49 versus a 1.08 and then took Thursday with a 1.16 versus a 1.07. Compared with the prior week, Fallon was up +11% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.24 from a 1.12) and +16% total viewers (4.076 million vs. 3.502 million). Versus "Tonight's" results for the same week last year, Fallon was up +33% in 18-49 (1.24 vs. 0.93). Fallon's 1.24 in 18-49 for the week topped the combined 1.22 of Kimmel (0.79) and Letterman (0.43). At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" continues to generate strong ratings, outscoring CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" despite starting an hour later. Versus "Late Night" ratings for the same week last year, Meyers was up +18% in 18-49 (0.59 vs. 0.50).Videos
