NBC's 'AMERICAN NINJA' Up 13% in Total Viewers

From 8-9 p.m. ET, "American Ninja Warrior" (1.7 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) jumped 13% week to week (1.7 vs. 1.5) to match its season high. It's the top "Ninja" rating since the show's summer premiere also did a 1.7 on July 1.

In total viewers, "Ninja" is up 18% week to week (5.783 million vs. 4.897 million) to claim its biggest overall audience since June 4, 2012 (when the show benefited from an "America's Got Talent" lead-in).

"American Ninja Warrior" won the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in every key ratings category - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

"American Ninja Warrior" grew half-hour to half-hour by 36% (to a 1.9 from a 1.4) and has now grown half-hour to half-hour by at least 0.2 of a point with eight of eight telecasts this summer. Last night's edition grew from half-hour to half-hour in every key demographic

From 9-10 p.m. ET, "Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall) is currently up week to week by 18% (to a 1.3 from a 1.1) and in total viewers by 20% (4.099 million vs. 3.413 million), pending updates. In total viewers, "Get Out Alive" hit a seven-week high, with its biggest overall audience since the series debuted with 4.2 million viewers on July 8, pending updates. In the time period, "Get Out Alive" is #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49 and #1 among those networks in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos.

From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "Siberia" (0.7/2 in adults 18-49, 1.9 million viewers overall) is currently matching its top 18-49 rating since July 15. Pending updates, "Siberia" is up week to week in total viewers by 2% (to 1.875 million from 1.831 million), which currently makes this the top "Siberia" in total viewers since July 29.


In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.3/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.2/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/4 with an encore.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2 with an encore).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


For the Week:

NBC has finished #2 in adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX for the Primetime week of August 19-25, led by NBC Sports' Vikings-49ers NFL Preseason telecast Sunday night, which ranked #1 for the week among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49. According to "live plus same day" ratings from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 1.3 rating, 4 share in 18-49 and 4.7 million viewers overall for the week.

For the week, NBC was #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49, total viewers and most other key measures and was #1 among those nets in women 18-34 and tied for #1 in adults and men 18-34.

Sunday's Vikings-49ers Preseason coverage was also #1 on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos, while Tuesday's "America's Got Talent" ranked #1 on those nets in teens 12-17 and tied for #1 in kids 2-11.

Primetime averages for the week of August 19-25 in adults 18-49 are: CBS, 1.5/5; NBC, 1.3/4; ABC, 1.0/3; Fox, 0.9/3; and CW, 0.3/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 6.1 million; NBC, 4.7 million; ABC, 4.1 million; Fox, 2.6 million; and CW, 0.9 million.

Averages for the 2012-13 Broadcast Year to date are: CBS, 2.4/7; Fox, 2.2/7; NBC, 2.1/6; ABC, 2.0/6; and CW, 0.6/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 10.2 million; ABC, 7.1 million; NBC, 6.6 million; Fox, 6.1 million; and CW, 1.5 million.

For the 2012-13 broadcast year to date, NBC is running within a tenth of a rating point of #2 and within 0.3 of a point of #1 in adults 18-49, and ranks #2 in adults 25-54 and adults 18-34.
