NBCSN will present KYLE & RUT'S RACING ROOTS: DANIEL SUAREZ, a 30-minute special chronicling 2016 XFINITY Series Champion Daniel Suárez's road to professional racing, this Sunday, October 22, at 8 p.m. ET. Kyle & Rut's RACING ROOTS will air immediately following NBCSN's coverage of Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Kansas Speedway.

Racing Roots is hosted by auto racing icon and NASCAR on NBC analyst Kyle Petty, and NASCAR on NBC's resident automobile aficionado Rutledge Wood. The NBC Sports original program provides an in-depth look at how Suarez became the first Latin American driver to win a NASCAR national series championship.

The driver of Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 19 Toyota brings Petty and Wood back to his hometown of Monterrey, Mexico, where his love for racing first began. From visits to his local track and favorite restaurant, to the garage where Daniel's father restores authentic Volkswagen Beetles, Suárez shows Petty and Wood how his once farfetched dream has helped inspire others in his hometown.

"I love any opportunity I have to return home, and being able to share that experience with Kyle, Rut and my fans is incredibly meaningful," said Suárez. "I hope learning more about my background inspires others to make the impossible, possible."

As part of NBC Sports Group's comprehensive coverage of the 2017 NASCAR season, Kyle & Rut's RACING ROOTS is an on-going series that dives deep into the hometown stories of NASCAR's biggest stars. The 30-minute documentaries peal back the on-track exterior to showcase the hometowns, teachers, coaches and friends that helped shape today's superstars.
