NBC Presents Super-Serving of Major Sports Events with 'Home for the Holidays' Programming

With the holiday season in full swing, NBC Sports presents a super-serving of major events as NBC and NBCSN are a sports fan's ultimate "Home for the Holidays."

NBC Sports Group's cornucopia of holiday offerings is highlighted by five primetime NFL matchups, a pair of outdoor NHL Classics to ring in the New Year, 30 Premier League matches in a 10-day span, and the inaugural Team USA Winter Champions Series.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app - NBC Sports Group's live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs - will provide live streaming coverage of these events throughout the holiday season.

NBC presents the first of five primetime NFL matchups this holiday season tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET when Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks host Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football. This week's coverage continues on Sunday Night Football, when Dak Prescott and the NFC-leading Dallas Cowboys host Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Next week's NFL slate on NBC features a pair of bitter division rivalries. NBC's Thursday Night Football matchup on Dec. 22 features Eli Manning and the New York Giants vs. Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles, and SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL gift wraps an AFC West showdown for fans on Christmas night, when Alex Smith and the first-place Kansas City Chiefs host Von Miller and the defending SUPER BOWL champion Denver Broncos.

NBC's fifth game will be a Week 17 "flex" matchup with likely NFL Playoff implications.

NBC and NBCSN will combine to present five NHL games over the holidays, culminating with a pair of outdoor matchups to ring in 2017 on NBC. The NHL begins its Centennial year on NBC with matchup of two of the league's young American phenoms, when Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs host Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings at BMO Field in Toronto. Coverage shifts to Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Mo., home of Major League Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals, on Jan. 2, when NBC presents the 2017 NHL Winter Classic, pitting Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks against Vladimir Tarasenko and the St. Louis Blues in a classic Central Division rivalry.

NBCSN's NHL coverage during the holiday season begins next week with a Wednesday Night Rivalry clash between Alex Ovechkin's Washington Capitals and Claude Giroux's Philadelphia Flyers on Dec. 21, and continues with Flyers-Blues on Dec. 28 and Devils-Capitals on Dec. 29.

NBC Sports Group presents coverage of 30 matches in 10 days, highlighted by 20 consecutive hours of Premier League programming on Boxing Day, Monday, December 26, and New Year's Day, Monday, January 2. Boxing Day coverage begins at 7 a.m. ET and features 8.5 hours of live studio and match coverage, with nine hours of live studio and match coverage beginning at 7 a.m. ET on New Year's Day.

Premier League coverage also features matches between four of the top five teams, as second-place Liverpool host fourth-place Manchester City on Saturday, December 31, at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, and fifth-place Tottenham host first-place Chelsea on Wednesday, January 4, at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC Sports Group's holiday match coverage begins Monday, December 26, at 7 a.m. ET with Premier League Live, followed by Watford v. Crystal Palace at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN.
NBC Sports Group presents the inaugural Team USA Winter Champions Series, a tripleheader of Olympic winter sports events, this Saturday, December 17, on NBC and NBCSN. Coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC with men's and women's big air SNOWBOARDING from COPPER Mountain, Colo., an event that will make its Olympic debut at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. NBC will also present the FIL Women's World Cup luge event from Park City, Utah, as part of the telecast.

NBCSN caps the inaugural Team USA Winter Champions Series with one of international hockey's best rivalries on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET, when the U.S. Women's National Team hosts Canada at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich
