NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH LESTER HOLT ranked #1 across the board for the week of April 17, averaging 7.85 million total viewers, leading "ABC World News Tonight" by +66,000 viewers (+1%) and "CBS Evening News" by +1.5 million viewers (+25%). Nightly News posted the biggest audience increase from the previous week (+4% or +284,000 viewers) and won four of the five evenings in total viewers.
In the A25-54 demo, Nightly News averaged 1.8 million viewers, leading ABC by 144,000 viewers (+9%) and CBS by +353,000 viewers (+25%). The NBC News broadcast holds its largest demo leads over ABC and CBS in three seasons. Compared to last season, Nightly News' demo lead over ABC is up +14%, while its advantage over CBS is up +12%. Among A18-49, Nightly News averaged 1.3 million viewers, topping ABC by +175,000 (+16%) and CBS by +301,000 (+31%). Nightly News' A18-49 lead over ABC hit a four-week high, improving by +30% compared to the same week last season.
