As Brian Williams anchored from South Africa on the day of Nelson Mandela's public memorial service, Tuesday night's broadcast drew nearly 9.8 million total viewers, topping ABC by nearly 1.4 million. For the week, Nightly topped World News by 1.013 million total viewers , marking the sixth consecutive week that the NBC broadcast topped ABC by over 1 million viewers. Nightly has also topped ABC by +3 tenths in the demo for the third week in a row and over +300,000 viewers for the second straight week. Over the past two weeks, Nightly has improved its A25-54 viewer lead over ABC World News by +22% versus its 4Q'13 average. Season-to-date, Nightly has widened its total viewer advantage over ABC by +37% versus the same period last year. Also season-to-date, Nightly is delivering its biggest total viewer audience (8.936 million) to start a season since 2006 and its best advantage over ABC (+1,021,000) since 2010.Videos
