More Americans turned to NBC News for coverage of the 2016 Republican National Convention than any other broadcast television network.

According to Nielsen Media Research data, the NBC News coverage (10p-11p) averaged 4 million total viewers, outperforming ABC by +271,000 (+7%) and CBS by +1.2 million (+45%). NBC delivered a 2.5/4 Household rating/share, ahead of CBS' 1.9/3 and on par with ABC's 2.5/4

In the key news demographic of A25-54, NBC News averaged 1.6 million viewers, leading ABC by +383,000 (+31%) and CBS by +852,000 (+109%). In A18-49, NBC averaged a 1.1 rating, beating ABC by +38% and CBS by +130%.

Holt anchored NBC News's primetime coverage of the Republican National convention, joined by Savannah Guthrie and Chuck Todd. The coverage was led by Matt Lauer's exclusive interview with Melania Trump. Trump told Lauer that she wrote her speech for the first night of the convention with very little help. "I read it once over, and that's all because I wrote it with as little help as possible,' she said. NBC News correspondents Tom Brokaw, Andrea Mitchell, Peter Alexander and Hallie Jackson also contributed to the primetime hour. Political commentator Nicolle Wallace and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich were also on set for NBC News.

Holt will anchor NBC News's primetime coverage from live inside the convention hall through Thursday.
