UPDATE: A rep for the former White House intern tells Entertainment Tonight that the Daily Mail's report is false.

"This is obviously not happening," Lewinsky's spokesperson told ET of rumors that she is in discussions to join the daytime talk show. There have been no conversations with ABC about a possible hosting position on The View, the rep added.

The original report follows:

The Daily Mail reports that legendary journalist Barbara Walters hopes to see former White House intern Monica Lewinsky as the new co-host of ABC's THE VIEW.

Walters, who co-created the long-running morning talk show, interviewed Lewinsky back in 1999, following
her involvment in a sex SCANDAL with then President Bill Clinton.

The 41-year-old recently gave a 22-minute TED Talk which made international headlines, in which she spoke about 'The Price of Fame' and shared her story of being one of the original victims of cyber-bullying.

A source tells the Daily Mail , "Barbara believes that Monica, 41, could make THE VIEW competitive and compelling and while a lot of Washington's elite may scratch the show off its must-visit press list, the younger demographic of online users would tune in daily to see what she had to say."

As of now, neither Walters nor ABC has not confirmed the report.
