Michael J. Fox to Return to CBS's THE GOOD WIFE Following His Series Cancellation

Digitalspy.com reports that Michael J FOX will reprise his role as attorney Louis Canning for a multi-episode story arc on CBS's THE GOOD WIFE. As BWW reported earlier this week, NBC canceled Fox's new series The Michael J. FOX Show after 15 episodes. The comedy -- which is the second recent cancellation by NBC after the network nixed Sean Saves The World -- had filmed a total of 22 episodes.

According to the report, the remaining episodes of the series may air later this year on NBC in a new timeslot. The Good Wife returns to CBS with new episodes on March 9.

About THE GOOD WIFE:

THE GOOD WIFE, which was nominated for a 2014 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series, Drama and named one of AFI's Top Television Shows of 2013, stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick, a wife and mother who reinvents her life following her husband's sex and political corruption scandal. Four years into her tenure at the law firm of Lockhart/Gardner, Alicia accepted a prestigious partner offer from her bosses, Diane Lockhart, Will Gardner and David Lee. However, a mutual attraction with Will left Alicia conflicted after she agreed to renew her vows with her husband, Peter, who has won the gubernatorial election with the help of campaign manager Eli Gold.

After much thought, Alicia decided to leave Lockhart/Gardner to start a new firm with her colleague, Cary Agos, who is unable to convince investigator Kalinda Sharma to join them. Although she hoped to leave on good terms, her plans were discovered and she was fired from Lockhart/Gardner, leading to bad blood and a bitter feud between the two firms. Now Alicia must find a way to balance her evolving career, her new position as First Lady of Illinois and her roles as a wife and mother to her teenage children, Zach and Grace. Emboldened by the prospect of taking control of her future, Alicia bravely ventures into unknown territory.
