"Bardo Blues", the story of a man coming to grips with tragedy by escaping to paradise, will be featured at the 2018 La Femme International Film Festival, in Los Angeles on October 11th at 4:10 pm at the Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE 14, 1000 W Olympic Blvd.

This film is written by Marcia Kimpton and Anthony Taylor and the story is based on Marcia's life. She also produced and directed the movie as well as play one of the main characters named "Gabriella." "Bardo Blues " closed out the SOHO International Film Festival last year and also won best film at the Amsterdam International Filmmaker Festival, Yes Canada FF and the LA Independent film festival. It was selected as a semi finalist at the World of film international Festival Glasgow and Top INdie Film awards and it has also been selected as a finalist for the Santa Monica International film festival. The film has also won awards in Cinematography, Editing, Lead Actor, and Marcia received her first Best Actress award at LAIFF.

Set in Thailand "Bardo Blues" follows Jack as he struggles to learn the truth about the mother that abandoned him and his own reason for existing. Weaving spiritual awakenings and soulful struggles, "Bardo Blues" will leave you questioning everything you think you know about who you are, where you came from and where you are going.

Kimpton is proud to bring this film to life as it touches on issues close to home because the story is inspired by her brother real life struggles with mental illness.. Graham Kimpton was the Executive Producer and the credit sequence features the artwork by Graham.

"I knew I had to write this as if it was my last story I had to tell" Kimpton said, and "I'm really proud of it."

Obstacles did not stop Kimpton from making this film happen. On route to Thailand she lost her producer and needed to find one in a short period of time - she did it. She also did the entire pre-production without an assistant, filmed it in 16 days with a crew of 18 overseas. The film was self-funded, and if it meant going into debt, she took the risk.
