Macy Kate Selected by Instagram Audition to Perform on ABC's RISING STAR

Last night's premiere of "Rising Star" offered viewers a surprise performer--Macy Kate, a singer from St. Petersburg, Florida, who was selected to compete on the basis of her 15 second Instagram audition video for a cover of Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive." She went on to perform Rixton's "Me and My Broken Heart," and garnered 93% of the east coast vote and 91% of the west coast vote, advancing in the competition.

"Rising Star" returns with a new group of performers SUNDAY, JUNE 29 (9:00-11:00 p.m. ET; check local listings) on the ABC Television Network.

At only 16 years old, she is the youngest singer ever to record with pop sensation Sean Kingston, with her single, First Kiss. She recently released her single, "You Gave Me Love," on Youtube & ITunes. She currently has a partnership with Sony/ATV for her Youtube channel "Macy Kate Music." She has done endorsement work for Uber, Blenders Eyewear, JewelMint and Samsung. She has performed with and has been a supporting act for many national concerts, including The OMG Girlz, Aaron Carter, Austin Mahone, Frank Musik, Radio Disney, Alex G., Rick Springfield and recently toured with boy band Before You Exit.
