MTV previously announced that Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Miguel will serve as the latest guest music supervisor for the network, as he hand-selected songs for tonight's February 6 episode of "Washington Heights," which will premiere at 10 p.m. ET/PT. In the sixth episode of the season, Jimmy is forced to choose between baseball and his job, while Reyna is pushed to continue her music and Ludwin gives out his number behind Frankie's back. Miguel picked songs for several key moments in the episode; click here to watch "Washington Heights" cast member JP interview Miguel for some insight into his choices.

In addition to "Adorn," written and produced by Miguel, tonight's February 6 episode of "Washington Heights" will feature music from other Los Angeles-based artists, including Thundercat ("Is It Love?") and Dom Kennedy ("My Type of Party").

"What I really wanted to accomplish with this opportunity was somehow bridging the gap," said Miguel. "I thought it would be a really good juxtaposition to take young, hungry kids from New York and help tell their stories with music from young, up-and-coming and hungry kids from L.A."

Leading up to the episode, MTV will feature Miguel with several on-air promotional spots, in addition to an increased rotation of Miguel videos on AMTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Hits and MTV Jams. Immediately following the February 6 episode of "Washington Heights," MTV.com will feature stories and interviews with Miguel on Buzzworthy, Soundtrack.MTV.com and Artists.MTV.com.

"We're thrilled to support innovative and creative artists like Miguel in every way possible" said Joe Cuello, Senior Vice President, Creative Music Integration, MTV. "The guest music supervisor series is an ideal venue for musicians to reach our audience in a meaningful way across all of MTV's platforms."

Miguel is the latest star to serve as a guest music supervisor for an MTV series. Previous music supervisors include Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast (MTV's "Awkward"); Pete Wentz ("The Hills"); Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker ("Laguna Beach"); and Dashboard Confessional ("Laguna Beach").

Bystorm/RCA Recording artist Miguel is currently touring Europe in support of his hit album Kaleidoscope Dream, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard R&B album chart, as well as No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Miguel is nominated for five Grammys, including Song of the Year, Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance for "Adorn," as well as Best Urban Contemporary Album.

"Washington Heights" follows nine best Friends from the vibrant and diverse New York neighborhood of Washington Heights. Together, this compelling group of Friends attempts to navigate the obstacles that stand in the way of their individual pursuits, which include fashion, music, baseball and poetry. Although they're not all blood related, they still consider each other family, as every setback, celebration and next step on the road to success brings them closer together.

"Washington Heights" is produced by Gigantic! Productions for MTV, with Cheryl Horner Sirulnick, George McTeague and Patrick Reardon serving as Executive Producers for Gigantic! Chris Linn, Shannon Fitzgerald and Christy Spitzer are Executive Producers for MTV, with Beck Hickey, Craig Sloane and Jim Czarnecki also serving as Executive Producers. Janay Dutton and Shane Tilston are the executives in charge for MTV. Joe Cuello and Rochelle Holguin are Executives in Charge of Music for MTV. Ricki Askin is the Music Supervisor for "Washington Heights."
