MEET THE PRESS WITH CHUCK TODD is Number One for Ninth Straight Week

Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, January 20, according to Nielsen Media Research data, marking its ninth straight week at #1.

Sunday's broadcast featured an interview with Rudy Giuliani, lawyer for President Donald Trump, who said for the first time that conversations and plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow remained an "active proposal" and "went on throughout 2016," and exclusive interviews with Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).

MTP was the only Sunday show to deliver more than four million total viewers, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 4.214 million total viewers tuned in to the Sunday program: +30 percent (+984,000) more than ABC's This Week and +12 percent (+440,000) more than CBS'Face the Nation. This marks the broadcast's 31st straight win over ABC and ninth straight win over CBS in total viewers. MTP posted its highest total viewership in over a year (since January 7, 2018) and its widest advantages over ABC and CBS in five months (since August 12, 2018). Compared to the same broadcast last year, MTP grew by +16 percent (+594,000) and increased its advantage over ABC by +72 percent. Compared to last week, MTP added +17,000 total viewers and increased its leads over both ABC (13 percent higher) and CBS (up + four percent).

MTP was also the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the demo most valued by news advertisers for its 51st straight broadcast, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits. For the second straight week MTP was the only Sunday public affairs program to deliver more than one million demo viewers. 1.079 million A25-54 demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +48 percent (+348,000) more than ABC and +29 percent (+243,000) more than CBS. This is the broadcast's best streak in over 18 years (since October 15, 2000). Week over week, MTP increased its lead over ABC by +31 percent, posting its biggest A25-54 advantage over ABC since March 11, 2018. Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP posted the biggest A25-54 gain (+39,000 or four percent) and improved its advantages over both ABC (89 percent higher) and CBS (11 percent higher).

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board, delivering its best total viewer lead over ABC in seven years and CBS in eight years.

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming the competition combined among both total viewers and A25-54 viewers and winning every Sunday with total viewers for more than three straight years (since March 22, 2015).

An additional 1.021 million total viewers and 228,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
