As first reported in The Huffington Post, comedian Kristen Wiig is currently in talks to star with actor Ben Stiller in the upcoming film version of James Thurber's short story WALTER MITTY. The actress would portray a fellow worker who appears in Mitty's fantasy world. Stiller will be directing the project from 20th Century Fox.

The film will be a remake of the original 1947 version which starred Danny Kaye. The story centers on a shy magazine photographer who spends a great portion of his life imagining himself in daring and adventurous scenarios. Ultimately, Mitty is thrust into a real-life adventure when he finds himself in search of a photo negative which mysteriously disappears.

Wiig starred in last summer's blockbuster hit 'Bridesmaids'. She will also appear in the upcoming independent films 'Imogene' and 'Revenge of the Jolly!'.

WALTER MITTY is set to begin shooting this April and will include both New York and Iceland filming locations.
