Katy Perry tops the list of nominees for the 2014 MTV EMA's. The Prism singer garnered seven nominations, including Best Song and Best Female. Pop star Ariana Grande follows closely behind with six nominees, while THE VOICE coach Pharrell Williams and hot boyband 5 Seconds of Summer earned five a piece. One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Eminem, Sam Smith and newcomer Kiesza are nominated in four categories.
MTV will broadcast a U.S. pre-show telecast, from Miami, on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. ET/PT before the kick off of the actual awards show, which will take place from Glasgow's Hydro at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Competing against Perry for the top best song prize is Grande ("Problem" featuring Azalea), Eminem ("The Monster" featuring Rihanna), Williams ("Happy") and Smith ("Stay With Me"). American musicians competing for the best U.S. act are Perry, Beyonce, Eminem, Fifth Harmony and Williams.
Voting is open in all categories on MTVEMA.com and closes Nov. 8 at 11:59 p.m. CEST.
