Strings of Films, LLC today announced another addition to the STRINGS cast roster. Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Safe Haven) will play the role of "Alex," further ramping up the ensemble of the independent drama for first-time feature film director Daniel Duran. Principal photography begins June 9, 2013 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Doctor Alexander (Alex) Weller is an army veteran and counselor who was born in Queens, New York, but feels compelled to live and work in a rural town due to a promise. In his work, he uses a casual approach when treating Josh (to be played by Lucas Till). Patient and aware, Doctor Weller slowly earns Josh's trust and respect; however, their camaraderie is challenged when Josh makes a shocking discovery.

"Alex is a pivotal character throughout STRINGS," said Duran. "We're looking forward to Josh's take on the role and his magnetic aura within the ensemble."

STRINGS follows Josh, a lost soul with an extraordinary musical talent who sets on a journey to encounter what he least expects but undoubtedly needs most. Feeling as though it's him against the world, his path eventually crosses others in search of their own fate. In the end, his presence in their lives turns out to be of extraordinary importance.

The star studded ensemble includes already announced cast members Maria Bello as "Martha," Lucas Till as "Josh," and Tom Everett Scott as "Jim." Kherington Payne (Fame, So You Think You Can Dance), Jae Head (Hancock, The Blind Side) and Sharlene Taule (Grachi) have also been cast. The screenplay was written by Oscar Torres (Innocent Voices). Duran, Torres, Danny Rodriguez (Mooz-Lum) and Phyllis Laing are producing the film.
