John Finley Named Executive Vice President of Development for FOX News

John Finley has been named Executive Vice President of Development and will oversee FOX Nation, announced Suzanne Scott, Chief Executive Officer of Fox News and Fox Business Network (FBN). In this role, Finley will continue developing all new programs, series and documentaries for Fox News and will now run FOX Nation, reporting directly to Scott.

Finley has developed all of FOX Nation's short and long-form programming and was instrumental in the 2018 launch of the direct-to-consumer platform designed to target the network's most passionate and loyal super fans. The standalone streaming service now offers more than 600 hours of content ranging from historical documentaries to political and lifestyle series.

In making the announcement, Scott said, "John has played a fundamental part in the development of some of our most successful and signature programs. For nearly two decades, he has been an asset to the network and we are looking forward to him taking on this new key role in overseeing FOX Nation."

Finley added, "I am excited to assume this new position and continue my journey with the network in delivering top rate programming across both Fox News and FOX Nation."

In his former role as Senior Vice President of Development and Production, Finley had previously oversaw the latter group which will now be run by Scott Wilder, who has been named Vice President of Field and Production Operations. Wilder will report to Chief Operating Officer of FOX Television Stations and FNC Senior Vice President of News Operations, Sharri Berg.

Finley has spent the last 19 years of his career at Fox News where he began as an Executive Producer. Most recently, he oversaw the development of several FNC series, including The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton and Life Liberty & Levin, and the acclaimed documentary The Man Who Killed Usama Bin Laden. Additionally, he was involved in the development and planning of all the network's presidential debates during the 2016 election cycle as well as the senatorial and gubernatorial election town halls co-anchored by Special Report's Bret Baier and The Story's Martha MacCallum.

Previously, he served as Director of Development where he helped create some of the network's core daytime and primetime programming, including Hannity, The Five, Outnumbered, and The Greg Gutfeld Show. Prior to that, he was an executive producer for Hannity & Colmes and Hannity's America.

Finley is a graduate of the University of Virginia and earned a Master's Degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour all-encompassing news service delivering breaking news as well as political and business news. The number one network in cable, FNC has been the most watched television news channel for 17 consecutive years. According to a Suffolk University/USA Today survey, Fox News is the most trusted source for television news or commentary in the country and a 2017 Gallup/Knight Foundation survey found that among Americans who could name an objective news source, Fox News is the top-cited outlet. Owned by 21st Century Fox, FNC is available in nearly 90 million homes and dominates the cable news landscape, routinely notching the top ten programs in the genre.
