Heather Graham Sells HYPNOTIST'S LOVE STORY at ABC

Heather Graham has sold an adaptation of Liane Moriarty's book "The Hypnotist's Love Story" to ABC, Variety has learned.

Graham will executive produce and star in the pilot. After a string of failed romances, successful hypnotherapist Ellen is optimistic about her current boyfriend, until he reveals a disturbing truth: a stalker ex-girlfriend who has been following him for years. Ellen finds herself intrigued and oddly thrilled by the stalker, entirely unaware that they've already met. It is not yet determined which role Graham will play in the series. ABC Studios will produce.

Though she is primarily known for her acting, Graham has, in recent years, spent more and more time behind the camera. Graham wrote, directed, and starred in the romantic comedy film "Half Magic," released earlier this year. She also recently starred in the NBC series "Law & Order True Crime" and made appearances on "Get Shorty" and "Angie Tribeca." She is best known for her film roles in "Boogie Nights," "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me," and "The Hangover."

If the project is picked up to series, it will be the latest Moriarty work adapted for television. HBO adapted Moriarty's book "Big Little Lies" into an award-winning series starring and executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. Season two of that show is currently in the works, with the plot based on an original idea by Moriarty.
