HBO Documentary Films Presents THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING, a Look Into the Contemporary Art World

HBO Documentary Films is pleased to present THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING, a fascinating deep dive into the contemporary art world directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Nathaniel Kahn (My Architect). The film premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and has since traveled to top festivals around the world. It will open theatrically through HBO DOCUMENTARY FILMS in several cities across the country, beginning on October 19 in New York, before airing on HBO in November.

Exploring the labyrinth of the contemporary art world, this revealing film spotlights the role of art and artistic passion in today's money-driven, consumer-based society. Featuring collectors, dealers, auctioneers and a rich range of artists, from current market darlings George Condo, Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter and Njideka Akunyili Crosby, to one-time art star Larry Poons, it exposes deep contradictions as it holds a mirror up to contemporary values and times, coaxing out the dynamics at play in pricing the priceless and ultimately asks the question "Who does art belong to?".

98 mins. An HBO DOCUMENTARY FILMS release.
