Variety reports that GLEE alum Jessalyn Gilsig will take over the role of Jake Ballard's (Scott Foley) Wife in the upcoming sixth season of ABC's SCANDAL. The Canadian actress portrayed Terri Schuester in the first two seasons of the FOX musical dramedy.

Actress Joelle Carter, who originally played the role, was forced to depart the show due to a prior commitment to NBC's upcoming "Chicago Justice." It remains unclear whether the character will appear as a series regular or recurring guest star. A representative for ABC has declined to comment.

Gilsig's other TV credits include the role of Lauren Davis in Boston Public, Gina Russo in Nip/Tuck, and Siggy Haraldson on the History Channel series Vikings.

"Scandal" Season 6 will return midseason.
