Freeform to Air FOR OUR LIVES: PARKLAND Documentary April 30

On MONDAY, APRIL 30 (10:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. PT EDT), FreeForm will air "For Our Lives: Parkland," a documentary that follows the lives of student survivors from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL through the aftermath of the mass shooting that took place on February 14 and claimed the lives of their friends, classmates and teachers. A first-time co-production with ABC News' "Nightline," the hour-long special will feature footage captured by ABC News reporters documenting several students as they turned their unimaginable grief and fear into action during the difficult weeks after the attack.

This first-ever partnership between FreeForm and ABC News delivers these incredible stories through the lens of ABC News' award-winning journalism, whose producers have been embedded in the lives of these Parkland students since the tragic event. The impactful messages conveyed in the special are integral to Freeform's identity, which continues to set itself apart from other content platforms by delivering stories that energize and empower young adults to celebrate the power of possibility and inclusivity.

Hosted by award-winning journalist Elaine Welteroth, former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, the program will provide viewers with an intimate look at the student-led meetings with state lawmakers, the resumption of classes at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School for the first time since the shooting, the national school walk-outs, culminating with the "March For Our Lives" in Washington D.C.

Throughout the special, a series of "explainers" from media company ATTN: will air to help provide context to issues being addressed by the student activists. These four fact-based interstitials will address topics such as the state of gun laws in America, semi-automatic weapons, and the importance of young adult involvement in the decisions of our country.

"For Our Lives: Parkland" is produced by senior executive producer Jeanmarie Condon and executive producer Steven Baker from ABC News. Eric Johnson serves as supervising producer.
