Speaking to reporters backstage following Wednesday night's live performance show on THE X FACTOR, pop star Demi Lovato confirmed rumors that she will not be at the judge's table if and when the FOX singing competition returns for a fourth season.

"I'm leaving to start a new chapter in my life," Lovato shared. "I started this show being a singer and a musician, and it's time that I go back to that. I'm so excited for 2014 because I'm going to dedicate it completely and totally to music."

As of yet, first-time X FACTOR mentors Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio have not revealed whether they would return for another season of the show, however in an interview with reporters earlier this week, Simon Cowell hinted that he may already have new judges lined up to replace the entire present panel. "There is somebody in mind who we've wanted for a while for this show that has suddenly become available," Cowell revealed. "I'm definitely not going to tell you, but he's larger than life and would be spectacular." Asked if he would definitely appear in Season 4, the music exec replied, "I don't know yet. But it's definitely time for a change."

Fox has not yet given the officiAl Greenlight for a fourth season of the show. Sources believe that while it will most likely appear on a future programming line-up, the series may switch to a one night a week format recently tried by ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

The X Factor season three finale airs tonight, Thursday at 8/7c on Fox.
