GLEE creator Ryan Murphy confirmed at the Golden Globe Awards last night that Anne Hathaway will definitely make a guest appearance on the hit show this season as Kurt's lesbian aunt - a role she helped invent.

Says Murphy: "We just finalized a deal with Anne tonight to come onto the show. She's already created [her role]...She wants to play the lesbian aunt of Chris Colfer. Because everyone needs a lesbian aunt."

Anne Hathaway's film credits include 'The Princess Diaries,' 'Brokeback Mountain,' 'The Devil Wears Prada,' 'Becoming Jane,' 'Alice in Wonderland,' and 'Rachel Getting Married,' for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. Hathaway played Viola in Shakespeare in the Park's 2009 production of TWELFTH NIGHT. She also appeared as Lili in CARNIVAL! at Encores. She is currently starring in 'Love and Other Drugs.'

GLEE returns to Fox after the Superbowl in 2011.
