California School for the Deaf - Fremont to Be Featured on ESPN High School Football

By: Oct. 25, 2016

Two California football programs - Woodland Christian and California School for the Deaf-Fremont - will face off on Thursday, Oct. 27, on ESPN2 as part of the GEICO ESPN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL Showcase. The matchup will feature unique production elements that differ from a regular HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL telecast, highlighting the parallels and non-parallels of an all-deaf football program. The national anthem, which will be signed by the California School for the Deaf's cheerleaders, will also air prior to kickoff.

The regular Friday night commentator team of Kevin Brown and Craig Haubert will be joined by COLLEGE FOOTBALL analyst Dan Hawkins and reporter Quint Kessenich for this game.

Ahead of Thursday's game, E:60 will air two extended half-hour specials on Tuesday, Oct. 25 (9 p.m., ESPN), including E:60 Pictures: "Silent Night Lights," an emotional journey inside the huddle and hearts of the California School for the Deaf football team, where the athletes don't just compete against hearing teams, they win.
