Brooke Shields will soon be returning NBC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress has signed on for a multiple-episode arc on the network's freshman comedy THE MICHAEL J. FOX SHOW.

Shields will take on the role of "Deborah, a smart and beautiful single mother with a sweet and nerdy personality who doesn't quite have it all together. In her three-episode arc, she'll meet Ian Henry (Conor Romero) -- Mike Henry's (Michael J. Fox) 19-year-old son -- at a ballroom dance class and the chemistry between the two is unmistakable. Shields will begin her arc in 2014."

In the past decade, Shields has won rave reviews and has established herself as an acclaimed Broadway musical leading lady with her performances as Ruth in Wonderful Town, Roxie Hart in Chicago and Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Her Broadway debut came in 1994 as Rizzo in Grease, for which she won a Theatre World Award. She most recently appeared in the role of Morticia in Broadway's 'The Addams Family.' She can next be seen on Lifetime's hit series ARMY WIVES.

Mike Henry (Michael J. Fox, "Spin City," "Family Ties"), one of New York's most beloved news anchors, put his career on hold to spend more time with his family and focus on his health after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. But now five years later, with the kids busy growing up and Mike growing restless, it just might be time for him to get back to work.

Having never wanted Mike to leave in the first place, his old boss Harris Green (Wendell Pierce, "Treme," "The Wire") jumped at the chance to get him back on TV. The trick, as it's always been, was to make Mike think it was his idea. After several failed attempts, Mike's family, anxious to see him out of the house, finally succeeded in getting him to "run into" Green. Now their plan is in motion. He'll be back to juggling home, family and career, just like the old days - only better.

Also starring are Betsy Brandt ("Breaking Bad"), Conor Romero ("American Gangster"), Juliette Goglia ("Easy A"), Jack Gore and Katie Finneran ("I Hate My Teenage Daughter").

Fox also serves as executive producer on the new comedy from executive producer/writer Sam Laybourne ("Cougar Town") and executive producer/director Will Gluck ("Easy A," "Friends with Benefits").

"The Michael J. Fox Show" is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Olive Bridge Entertainment.
