Bill Cosby Hard at Work on New Cosby Show Comedy!

Bill Cosby is returning to television wiht a new special, Far From Finished on Comedy Central on November 23, but it turns out that we might soon see even more of the legend on the small screen.

YahooTV reports that Cosby is at work on two network shows, one which sounds a lot like The Cosby Show, though he insists it won't be a remake -- "They would like to see a married couple that acts like they love each other, warts and all, children who respect the parenting, and the comedy of people who make mistakes. Warmth and forgiveness. So I hope to get that opportunity, and I will deliver the best of Cosby, and that will be a series, I assume, that we could get enough people week after week after week to tune in to, to come along with us.""

What else is he working on? "And, hey, hey, hey, Cosby has another project in the works, an update on his 1972-85 animated series "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids." The CBS series, which was based on Cosby's stories about his childhood friends in Philadelphia, already spawned a 2004 live-action big-screen movie with "Saturday Night Live" star Kenan Thompson in the titular role. But Cosby's idea is to bring Fat Albert back to TV as an animated program that, like the original, would also feature his live-action wraparounds."

Cosby went around television's racial obstacles with I Spy, becoming the first African American to costar on a weekly, dramatic television series while winning three consecutive Emmys. Cosby created and produced the Emmy Award winning cartoon series Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids. Perhaps Cosby's greatest contribution to American entertainment and culture, though, is The Cosby Show, about a close-knit, upper middle income Black family. The show was in part an evolution of the routines from Bill Cosby Himself, which three decades after it originally aired is still considered one of the landmark comedy specials of all time. Cosby has also received the Kennedy Center Honors, the Presidential Medal of Freedom (America's highest civilian honor), the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and the Marian Anderson Award.
