ABC's WORLD NEWS Hits Season High for 2nd Week in a Row

For the week of November 11, 2013, "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" averaged 8.243 million Total Viewers and a 1.6 rating/6 share/1.961 million in Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research. Growing over the previous week in Total Viewers (+2% - 8.060 million on w/o 11/4/13) to hit a season-high for the 2nd week in a row, "World News" drew its largest overall audience in 7 months - since w/o 4/15/13. In fact, "World News" was up the most week to week compared to "CBS Evening News" (-3%) and "NBC Nightly News" (+1%).

"World News" narrowed its week-to-week Total Viewer margin with "NBC Nightly News" by 8% (1.102 million vs. 1.192 million).

Season to date, "World News" is up Versus the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+2%) and Adults 25-54 (+1%), delivering its most-watched season in 4 years - since the 2009-10 season. "World News" is the only evening newscast to grow from the same point last season in the key adult news demo compared to "CBS Evening News" (-9%) and "NBC Nightly News" (-2%).

In addition, "World News" has narrowed its season margin with "NBC Nightly News" in Adults 25-54 by double-digits (-19%) compared to its season margin at the same point last year. In fact, decreasing its Adults 25-54 margin for the 3rd season in a row, "World News" is posting its smallest news demo margin (256,000) with the NBC program in 5 years- since the 2008-09 season.

For the week, "ABC World News" beat the "CBS Evening News" by 1.126 million Total Viewers and by 124,000 Adults 25-54.
