ABC's Tuesday Comedies Improve Across the Board; 'Fresh Off the Boat' Finale Hits a 9-Week High

ABC's Tuesday Primetime (8:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.6 million and 0.9/4 in AD18-49):
ABC saw each of its Tuesday comedies grow, delivering the biggest week-to-week increases on the night.

  • At 8:00 p.m., ABC's "The Middle" was the night's 2nd biggest gainer (behind only "black-ish"), jumping 21% in Total Viewers (5.8 million vs. 4.8 million) and 18% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/6 vs. 1.1/5) to score 9-week highs - since 1/16/18.
  • At 8:30 p.m., ABC's season finale of "Fresh Off the Boat" advanced week to week by 18% in Total Viewers (3.6 million vs. 3.1 million) and by 11% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/4 vs. 0.9/3), earning its best numbers in the half-hour in 6 weeks with viewers and in 9 weeks among young adults - since 2/6/18 and 1/16/18, respectively. The ABC comedy held even with its year-ago May finale (on 5/16/17).
  • At 9:00 p.m., ABC's "black-ish" experienced the most week-to-week growthfor any Tuesday broadcast, with spikes of 30% in Total Viewers (3.9 million vs. 3.0 million) and 22% in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 0.9/3), posting its highest numbers since the first week of January- since 1/2/18. In addition, "black-ish" posted its biggest-yet advantages over Fox's "LA to Vegas" (2.2 million and 0.6/2), beating the new comedy by 77% in Total Viewers and 83% in young adults.
  • At 9:30 p.m., ABC's repeat "Modern Family" beat Fox's first-run "The Mick" in the half-hour by 1.1 million viewers (3.1 million vs. 2.0 million) and by 14% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.7/2).
  • At 10:00 p.m., ABC's "For The People" tied for 2nd in its hour among Adults 18-49 (0.6/3). The new ABC drama delivered strong Live + 3 Day gains for its week-ago series debut, adding +1.6 million viewers (3.2 million to 4.8 million) and +38% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 to 1.1/5) to its L+SD deliveries.
