ABC's MISTRESSES Delivers Its Most Watched Telecast in 7 Weeks

During the week of August 29, 2016, ABC SNAPPED NBC's winning streak with a first place finish in both Total Viewers (5.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.5/6). The Net delivered 4 of the Top 15 TV shows in Adults 18-49, landing 2 of the Top 3 and the No. 1 program overall with COLLEGE FOOTBALL coverage: "ABC Primetime College Football-9/4" - No. 1, "Saturday Night Football" - No. 3, "Bachelor in Paradise" - No. 8 and "Bachelor in Paradise-TUE" - No. 11. In addition, ABC's Sunday (No. 2) and Saturday (No. 4) COLLEGE FOOTBALL games ran among the week's Top 4 most watched TV programs.

ABC's primetime delivery spiked week to week in Total Viewers (+44% - 5.2 million vs. 3.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (+88% - 1.5/6 vs. 0.8/3) to score 11-week highs - since w/o 6/13/16. The Net surged over the same week last year (4.1 million and 1.1/4 on w/o 8/31/15) in Total Viewers (+27%) and Adults 18-49 (+36%).

Monday: Growing to 4-week highs on the night (since 8/1/16), ABC earned second place on Monday among Total Viewers (4.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.3/5). The Net ranked No. 1 on Monday with Adults 18-34 (tie) and key Women (W18-34/W18-49).

"Bachelor in Paradise" (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 5.5 million and 1.6/6 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:01 p.m., ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" added viewers for the 3rd consecutive Monday (+6% - 5.5 million vs. 5.2 million) and remained even with young adults (1.6/6), scoring a new season high in Total Viewers and tying a season best with Adults 18-49. In fact it posted the series' 2nd-highest-numbers ever in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 (tie).

"Bachelor in Paradise" was Monday's No. 1 TV show in Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-49/W25-54) and ranked as the No. 2 program in Adults 18-49, behind only NBC's "American Ninja Warrior."

"Mistresses" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 2.7 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49):
At 10:00 p.m., ABC's "Mistresses" built week to week in Total Viewers (+8% - 2.7 million vs. 2.5 million) and held even with Adults 18-49 (0.6/2), marking its most watched telecast overall in 7 weeks - since 7/11/16.

Tuesday: With "Bachelor in Paradise" and "After Paradise," leading up to the 2-night season finale for the franchise (on Monday and Tuesday, 9/5/16 and 9/6/16), ABC earned second place on Tuesday among Adults 18-49 (0.9/3) to an "America's Got Talent"-led NBC.

Among Adults 18-49, ABC built 13% to a 4-week high on the evening and spiked 29% over the same Tuesday last summer.

"Bachelor in Paradise" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 5.0 million and 1.4/6 in AD18-49): From 8:00-9:00 p.m., ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" grew for the 3rd straight week in Total Viewers (5.0 million vs. 4.9 million) and held even with Adults 18-49 (1.4/6), marking its most watched Tuesday telecast yet and tying a high with young adults on the night. In fact "Bachelor in Paradise" delivered ABC's biggest audience to the hour this summer with regular programming. The ABC unscripted series was the No. 2 TV show of the night in Adults 18-34, behind only NBC's "America's Got Talent."

"After Paradise" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 3.4 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49): In the 9:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "After Paradise" delivered its 2nd straight week of double-digit growth in Total Viewers (+21% - 3.4 million vs. 2.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (+29% - 0.9/3 vs. 0.7/3) to set new season highs. In its time slot, the "Bachelor in Paradise" after-show beat CBS' "Zoo" by 29% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3 vs. 0.7/3).

Friday "What Would You Do?" (9:01-10:00 p.m. - 3.6 million and 0.8/4 in AD18-49):
The season finale of ABC's "What Would You Do?" grew for the 2nd week in a row in Total Viewers (+6% - 3.6 million vs. 3.4 million) and Adults 25-54 (+10% - 1.1/4 vs. 1.0/4), drawing its biggest overall audience since the beginning of July and matching its highest Adult 25-54 rating since June - since 7/1/16 and 6/24/16.

"What Would You Do?" ranked as Friday's No. 1 TV series in Adults 18-49 (0.8/4-tie) and Adults 25-54 (1.1/4-tie).

Saturday The 11th season premiere of "Saturday Night Football" (USC vs. Alabama) made ABC the dominant No. 1 network on the night in Total Viewers (8.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7/12), more than doubling the other major networks combined among young adults (+145% over CBS, NBC and FOX = 1.1/5). ABC tied its highest-rated Saturday night with Adults 18-49 since December 2014 - since 12/6/14.

Airing from 8:07-11:44 p.m., ABC's "Saturday Night Football" easily qualified as the evening's No. 1 TV show with Total Viewers (7.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.5/11).

Saturday's game was ABC's most watched and highest-rated COLLEGE FOOTBALL game among Adults 18-49 (tie) on the night since last season's opening game - since 9/5/15.

Sunday With COLLEGE FOOTBALL coverage (Notre Dame vs. Texas), ABC was the No. 1 network on Sunday in Total Viewers (9.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.8/12). Beating the other major networks combined by 40% among Adults 18-49 (2.8/12 vs. 2.0/9 for CBS, NBC and Fox), it was ABC's 2nd night in a row to lead its combined broadcast competition with COLLEGE FOOTBALL coverage. ABC hit an 11-week high on the night in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 - since 6/19/16.

ABC's COLLEGE FOOTBALL game was Sunday's dominant No. 1 show in Total Viewers (10.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.3/14).

Sunday night's double-overtime thriller between Notre Dame and Texas delivered a total live audience measurement (TV + Streaming) of 11.1 million average viewers, up 3% over last season's Labor Day Night game between Ohio State and Virginia Tech (on 9/7/15) to make it the most watched COLLEGE FOOTBALL kickoff weekend game on record on any network.
