ABC's FRESH OFF THE BOAT Returns with Its Best Results Since Early March

Returning to original for the first time in 3 weeks (since 4/5/16) at 8:00 p.m., ABC's "Fresh Off the Boat" came back as Tuesday's No. 1 comedy, beating Fox's "New Girl" head to head in the half-hour by 2.2 million viewers (4.7 million vs. 2.5 million) and 30% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/5 vs. 1.0/4). "Fresh Off the Boat" was up by double digits from its most recent original telecast in Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 18-49 (+18%) to deliver its highest numbers since the beginning of March - since 3/8/16. The ABC sophomore series has ranked as the most watched Tuesday night comedy on every original telecast of 2016.

"The Real O'Neals" (8:30-9:00 p.m. - 3.5 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49):
At 8:30 p.m., ABC's "The Real O'Neals" finished well ahead of its FOX comedy competition in the slot ("Grandfathered") with Total Viewers (+84% - 3.5 million vs. 1.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+67% - 1.0/3 vs. 0.6/2). The ABC freshman comedy surged week to week by 17% in Total Viewers and 25% in Adults 18-49.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 3.3 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49):
At 9:00 p.m., ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." rose week to week in Total Viewers (+18% - 3.3 million vs. 2.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (+11% - 1.0/3 vs. 0.9/3), marking its most watched telecast overall in 7 weeks - since 3/8/16. Most Recent L+7 ratings (for Tuesday, 4/5/16): In the most recent Live + 7 Day data released this past Monday, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." more than doubled its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating (+111%), turning in its biggest L+7 lift ever.

Projections Rationale:
Lifts vs. L+SD are based on the 2015-16 season for premiere telecast or an average for originals (excluding the premiere).
Returning shows: Profile based on same show (either premiere or averages for originals).
New Series: Based on similar series.

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 48% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
