Deadline reports that ABC's comedy Happy Endings will not be renewed following its third season. After some time shopping for a new home, Sony Pictures TV has decided to put the series to rest.

USA Network had begun talks to acquire Happy Endings in April, but the network ultimately chose not to move ahead and focus on its original comedy programming. With Happy Endings' cast options nearing their deadline this weekend, the show has shuttered.

Happy Endings is "a raucous comedy about six dysfunctional thirtysomething friends living in Chicago", starring Eliza Coupe as Jane Kerkovich-Williams, Elisha Cuthbert as Alex Kerkovich, Zachary Knighton as Dave Rose, Adam Pally as Max Blum, Damon Wayans Jr. as Brad Williams and Casey Wilson as Penny Hartz.
